JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com -  Pendidikan tentang HIV/AIDS sudah terintegrasi lewat beberapa mata pelajaran di sekolah seperti Biologi, bahasa Indonesia, Pendidikan Jasmani Kesehatan, dan lain-lainnya. Akan tetapi kurikulum tersebut juga akan di-review supaya jelas topik yang sangat penting atau tidak untuk bisa masuk kurikulum sehingga tepat sasaran.

Dengan review ini diharapkan pendidikan mengenai HIV/AIDS tidak abu-abu.

Demikian dikatakan Dirjen Pendidikan Non Formal dan Informal Kementrian Pendidikan Nasional (Kemdiknas) Hamid Muhammad di Jakarta, Jumat (26/11/2010). Pengkajian ulang tersebut dimaksudkan agar edukasi tentang HIV/AIDS menjadi lebih mudah dimengerti.

"Dengan review ini diharapkan pendidikan mengenai HIV/AIDS tidak abu-abu,” tandas Hamid.

Menurut dia, pencegahan penularan HIV/AIDS melalui sektor pendidikan dilakukan oleh Kemdiknas, baik melalui jalur formal maupun informal dengan cara memasukkan masalah HIV/AIDS agar terintegrasi dengan kurikulum pendidikan dasar, menengah, dan tinggi, serta melalui penyebarluasan buku pedoman, modul, poster, dan televisi.

Pekan depan, tepatnya pada 1 Desember, Kemdiknas juga akan menyelenggarakan peringatan hari AIDS Sedunia. Tahun ini peringatan tersebut bertema Universal Acces and Human Right (Akses Universal dan Hak asasi Manusia) dengan subtema Peningkatan Hak dan Akses Pendidikan untuk Semua Guna Menekan Laju Epidemi HIV/AIDS di Indonesia menuju tercapainya Tujuan Pembangunan Milenium (MDGs)”, serta slogan “Stop Aids”: Tingkatkan Hak dan Akses Pendidikan untuk semua.

Arif Rahman, Ketua Harian Komite Nasional Unesco untuk Indonesia mengatakan, dalam memperingati hari AIDS Sedunia masih banyak dirayakan dengan perayaan. “Diharapkan dengan 50 persen lagi bisa diisi dengan kegiatan-kegiatan yang lebih positif seperti workshop atau seminar. Isi kegiatan harus lebih kontekstual dibandingkan yang sudah-sudah,” kata Arif.
