Pemuda yang tidak disebutkan namanya ini dihadang di jalan oleh 10 wanita yang kesemuanya membawa pisau. Wanita-wanita tersebut kalap menyerang si pemuda yang tidak berdaya, bahkan beberapa di antara mereka menggagahinya.

“Lebih dari 10 wanita bersenjatakan pisau dapur menyerangnya dan beberapa dari mereka memperkosanya. Ini adalah masalah serius dan polisi masih berusaha mengidentifikasi 'binatang-binatang' ini,” ujar komandan polisi Teddy Tei seperti dilansir dari laman Associated Press.

Saat ini pemuda tersebut terbaring di rumah sakit menjalani perawatan. Tei mengatakan bahwa kekhawatiran utamanya adalah wanita-wanita tersebut menularkan HIV/AIDS. Penyakit yang salah satu penularannya melalui hubungan seksual ini adalah masalah besar di Papau Nugini.
